Habitation Service

A Habitation service should be carried out annually on the interior of your motorhome, this is designed to check that your motorhome's utilities (Gas, Water & Electrics) are operating in the way intended and are safely connected so as to avoid any untimely failures.

As part of our Motorhome Habitation service, we carry out a full inspection which consists of a 45-point check which includes a damp test, electrical, gas and water systems and more, it also includes all labour and consumables.

Thoroughly checking every aspect of your motorhome habitation area, will ensure that it is completely safe and damage free. As part of the service, we’ll also test the operation and safety of all your gas and electric appliances.

  • Carry out a gas leak test
  • Pipework & BBQ point - check operation & replace flexible hose and clips if necessary
  • Flame failure devices - check operation
  • LPG Tank / Cylinder - check the security

  • Appliances, cooker - check flue and operation
  • Appliances, heating - check flue and operation

  • 12n 12s plugs/cables - check condition & test
  • Road lights, reflectors - check condition & operation
  • Fridge - check operation from 12s/13s pin plug

  • Battery - check condition, security, electrolyte level & lubricate terminals & charge rate 12s/13s pin plug
  • Wiring & fuses - inspect condition & verify that fuse ratings are correct

  • Inlet plug - inspect
  • Hook-up cable - check if available
  • Earth bonding - test
  • Metal surfaces bonded - check
  • RCD operation - test
  • Socket outlets - carry out plug top polarity test
  • Appliances fitted e.g. air conditioning - check operation
Water System
  • Water pump pressure switch & heater - check operation & clean grit filter
  • Taps, micro switch, valves, pipes & tank (if fitted) - check condition & operation
  • Water filter & housing - check for leaks & replace the filter if necessary
  • Waste system - check for leaks
  • Toilet - check seals, flush & blade operation
  • Drain down - winter only
Ventilation
  • Fixed ventilation openings - check the free flow of air
  • Roof lights - check to ensure free of obstructions
Fire Safety
  • DIY additions - check operation & safety
  • Security & smoke alarms - check operation
  • Extinguisher (if fitted) - check the correct type fitted & expiry date
  • Fire blanket (if fitted)
Body Work
  • Roof - check all seals & condition of roof lights, flues & ACC
  • Body panels - check & report upon any damage & sealant condition
  • Door locks & hinges - check operation & lubricate
  • Body attachments - check security (including ladders, cycle racks, aerials, satellite dishes etc.)
  • Floor - check for delamination
  • Furniture - check condition & operation (incl. hinges, stays etc. )
  • Grab handles - check condition & security
  • Window seals & blinds - check condition & operation
  • Damp test - carry out & note readings on a separate damp report.
